Search Engines and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) – Where on Earth are they heading?
If you’ve had a business website for any length of time – and certainly if you are in the web design and development industry – you will have been frustrated more than once by this ridiculously over-complex topic by now. The subject of search engine optimisation is mind-numbingly vast – and I’m certainly not attempting here to duplicate the comments, advice and strategies (not to mention general SEO bullsh**) that appears elsewhere on the Web. But I would like to start an open conversation here about whether business owners and web developers think search engines are providing a good service or not. Are the likes of Google truly providing an accurate, relevant and easy-to-use search facility – for businesses and their customers alike, or is the jury out?
Let’s start by describing an ideal search system shall we? Customer needs a service provider. Service provider needs customers. Search facility sits between the two and joins them together. Simple enough isn’t it?
Now let’s keep it even more simple.; rather than require the customer to learn how to use a computer capable of performing several billion instructions per second, let’s present the search information on paper; maybe in a brightly-coloured book so our data can be found easily and won’t require any electricity to function. And while we’re at it, rather than require the business owner to understand how Google’s complex search algorithms can be manipulated to ensure he is in the number 1 position, why not simply ask him for a small fee for inclusion in our brightly-coloured book? He won’t have to worry about jostling for position with competitors because everyone knows that the results are in alphabetical order anyway.
The most devious his competitor can be is to call himself “A. Aardvark”. And if the customer wants to find a builder, he looks under “builders“; if he wants to buy sportswear he looks under the “sportswear shops” section. Dead easy.
If only someone would replace all this SEO complexity with a single, easy-to-use, power-saving search facility.
Ssmiles all round... ;-)

Web Marketing - from £50/month!
Web marketing? ... a lot of hot air designed to keep computer geeks employed...right? Well, not quite. But that's what often happens if customers don't think carefully about who they employ to create, and to manage, their online presence. Whilst some are reputable, there are plenty of 'Search Engine Optimisation' or 'SEO' companies out there who will try to separate you from your money for doing precious little. But that's not how we work at Dalemedia. We are so confident of our processes that we guarantee our results. Put simply; if we don't achieve what we say will achieve, we give you your money back. Period.
Our £50/month package is GUARANTEED to get you on Google page 1 for your agreed keyword targets OR YOUR MONEY BACK! See www.dalemedia.com/web-marketing.php for more details!
